Hello everyone! Seems I've been keeping myself too busy lately to come around here too often. Let me start by stating the obvious: I have finally renamed my account to ~
KobraPhotography! The previous mk87 was getting old and had been bothering me for quite some time, so the change was overdue. While I have enjoyed using a premium account on here before (at least 5 out of the last 8 years have been with a subscription), the main reason I purchased a premium account this time was to change my username. I'm hoping this also motivates me to be a little more active. Like I said a few months ago, my return may be slow, but at least I'm back!
Next announcement: My new website! In my last journal entry (from July, no less) I mentioned I would be completely re-doing my website. Well, I did that with a full screen 1080p optimized layout, and while it looked great to fill the browser, it seems I didn't put too much thought into it from a business perspective. We're approaching 2013, and in today's tech-driven world, more and more people are using mobile devices to browse the internet. Smartphones and tablets have taken off like wildfire, and with the extreme growth of 4G and LTE, it only makes sense to create a website that can take advantage of this growing market. So back to the drawing board, I decided I would again make a new website, this time opting for a responsive layout. What this means is while the site will still look great on a laptop or PC, it will also automatically resize itself to fit screens as small as an iPhone or Android device. Speaking of Android, I also found a service which wraps my mobile website into it's own dedicated app. So without further ado, please check out the new
kobraphoto.ca and if you're an Android user, I invite you to
download the app! Let me know what you think in the comments below.
Finally, I'm happy to say that I have finally returned to Vancouver! I've been here for about 3 weeks now, which means I was about a month later to return than my original planned date, but the important thing is that I'm back home again. It's been nice to be back, but it's also been keeping me really busy. As far as getting back into photography, let's just say I have some very big plans over the coming months (and years, hopefully). I'll leave it at that for now.
